Edgar Williams, 93, of Cambridge MD, died peacefully at home surrounded by family on Saturday, Dec 7th, 2024.
He was born in Akron, Ohio in 1931 to Grace Dick Williams and Edgar Morgan Williams, Sr. Edgar attended King School before attending Miami University and Ohio State, graduating from Akron University in civil engineering. Edgar was a proud member of the Ohio Alpha Chapter of Phi Delta Theta fraternity.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1953-1955 before going on to work as an engineer with the Federal Aviation Administration, where he played a huge role in modernizing US airports for the jet age. He enjoyed sailing, poker, and his family.
Edgar was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Roetzel Williams, and is survived by his four children: Elizabeth Williams (Chuck Woodworth), Carrie Cassidy, Bruce Williams, and Morgan Mann; his two grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and his 8 (almost 9) great grandchildren.
Edgar was a bright light who spread good cheer wherever he went, and always encouraged his friends and family to do the same.
Edgar's ashes will be spread by his family next summer. Donations to the Salvation Army in lieu of flowers would be greatly appreciated.
