Earl Vicks Jr., 46

DOVER - Earl Vicks Jr. of Dover fell asleep in Yahweh on Tuesday, March 13, 2007. He was 46.

He was born to General Overseer Earl Vicks Sr. and First Lady Ruth A. Vicks on May 14, 1959, in New York. He was the oldest of their seven children.

He attended Parksley High School and afterwards enlisted in the U.S. Army. He worked for the New York City Mass Transit Authority as an accomplished electronic technician and many years at the New York City Department of Probation.

He recently matriculated in the nursing program at Delaware Technical & Community College and was looking forward to a career as a registered nurse.

He was a dedicated member of International Brotherhood of Yahshua's Disciples for the Finishing Work Inc. He was baptized in Yahshua's name in 1998 and ordained a deacon in 2002.

He was a loving father and his daughter Lianna was his pride and joy, the apple of his eye.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Lianna Phillips; wife, Rica Vicks; two brothers, Overseer Caleb B. Vicks and Deacon David L. Vicks; four sisters, Miriam V. Wilson, Leah D. Dickerson, Minister Karen Y. Vicks and Donna D. Vicks; sister-in-law, Minister Latricia Vicks; brother-in-law, Anthony Wilson; six nieces; eight nephews; the entire International Brotherhood of Yahshua's Disciples Assembly; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends, both natural and spiritual. We will miss him immensely.

Services will be 11 a.m. Sunday at International Brotherhood of Yahshua's Disciples for the Finishing Work Inc., 345 Plymouth Road, with a viewing one hour prior.

Arrangements by Minus Funeral Home.
