E. Evangel Schlabach, 75
GREENWOOD - E. Evangel Schlabach of Greenwood went home to be with his Lord Monday, Oct. 8, 2007, at his home after a short illness. He was 75.
Evangel was born July 27, 1932, in Greenwood, to the late Lorenzo and Polly (Miller) Schlabach.
Mr. Schlabach was a farmer by profession.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, playing dominoes, reading and nature.
Mr. Schlabach was a member of the Greenwood Mennonite Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Schlabach and Loyd Schlabach; and a sister, Mary Bender.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mabel (Troyer) Schlabach; four children and their spouses, Doris and Wayne Sommers of Greenwood, Verle and Sandy Schlabach of Greenwood, Melody and Paul Smith of Blounstown, Fla., and Daniel and Yolanda Schlabach of Greenwood; four brothers, Paul Slabaugh of Sauderton, Pa., Fred Slabaugh of Seaford, Timothy Schlabach of Milford, and Titus Schlabach of Greenwood; two sisters, Martha Tucker of Delphas, Ohio, and Pollyanna Eby of Bellville, Pa.; 14 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the Greenwood Mennonite School, Mennonite School Road, Greenwood.
Family and friends may call from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the school. Family will not be there in between visiting hours.
Interment will be at Greenwood Mennonite Church Cemetery.
