CHESTERTOWN - E. Barbara Standridge, 70, of Chestertown, formerly of Rock Hall, died Dec. 13, 2010, in Chester River Hospital. Mrs. Standridge was born on Nov. 10, 1940, daughter of the late Alfred Williamson LeCompte and Ethel Lee Davis LeCompte Groves. Her career began as a teller with Peoples Bank in Rock Hall and retired as Branch Manager in 2002 after 30 years of service. She love to read and enjoyed watching the Baltimore Ravens but her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Melvin Standridge; four children, Michael Standridge and his wife Angel, and David Standridge of Rock Hall, Shelly Standridge, and Lisa Jones, both of Chestertown; a brother, John A. Groves of Rock Hall; two sisters, Sandra Rust and her husband Bob of Chestertown, and Tammy Stipek and her husband Donald of Perry Hall; and three grandchildren, Stephen B. Jones, Jr., Alexis Jones and Lynn Standridge. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m., this evening, in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 16, at 11 a.m. in Wesley Chapel Church, Rock Hall where friends may call after 10 a.m. Burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
