DOVER — Many high schools around the state opened football preseason practice this morning.

Teams that begin season on the weekend of Aug. 29-31 were permitted to get underway.

Dover High is starting its first season under head coach Maurice Paulk, who was hired in the spring.

The Senators, who went 9-2 last fall, open up against Troy (Pa.) on Aug. 31 at 8 p.m. at Wilmington’s Abessinio Stadium as part of the Mid-Atlantic Pigskin Classic.
