Dot Elizabeth "Beth" Govatos, 81
MILFORD - Dot Elizabeth "Beth" Govatos of Milford died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2007, in Christiana Hospital, Newark, surrounded by her family. She was 81.
Mrs. Govatos was born July 4, 1926, in Philadelphia, daughter of the late Joseph A and Dot (Law) Stackhouse.
She was a graduate of Frankford High School in Philadelphia.
Mrs. Govatos was a homemaker most her life.
Her family was part of the founding fathers of Philadelphia.
She enjoyed knitting, needlepoint and embroidering.
Mrs. Govatos was also skilled at designing children clothing.
She was a member of the First Red Hatters of Milford, where she was "Queen Mum."
Mrs. Govatos was a active member of Christ Episcopal Church in Milford, where she served on the altar guild and was a member and past president of the Episcopal Church Women.
She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Theodore "Ted" P. Govatos; one daughter, JoAnn Govatos of North Palm Beach, Fla.; and one son, Peter T. Govatos of Milford.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Thursday in the Christ Episcopal Church, Second and Church streets in Milford. A reception will follow the service in Baker Hall adjoining the church.
Burial will be private.
The family suggested memorial contribution to Christ Episcopal Church, PO Box 191, Milford, DE 19963.
