Dorothy Snead

Dorothy Snead, 75 LAUREL - Dorothy Mae Snead, passed away Monday, December 14, 2009, in her home. She was 75. She was born March 17, 1934 in Pungoteague, Va., the daughter of the late Edward Gaskin and Annie Snead. She had retired from Perdue in Georgetown. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah AME Church in Laurel. She enjoyed doing puzzles and going to flea markets. She loved her family dearly. She was preceded in death by a son, James C. Snead; and a dear friend, James Clark Jr. She is survived by four children, James R. Snead Sr. of Laurel, Doris Ann Ames and her husband, Leroy, William Lee Snead and his wife, Mary, all of Trenton, N.J., and Charles R. Snead of Wilmington; 15 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bessie West of Dagsboro, and Mildred Mills of Melfa, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at Mt. Pisgah AME Church, Laurel, with Pastor Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Laurel.
