MILFORD - Dorothy S. Fluharty of Milford, died Friday, April 11, 2014, in the Milford Center in Milford. She was 92 years old. Born in Frederica, on November 19, 1921, Mrs. Fluharty was the daughter of the late John Lacy Stevens and Cora Griffith Stevens. For six years in the 1940's, Mrs. Fluharty was the Deputy Clerk of the Court for Caroline County, Md. In 1960, she and her husband moved to Hickory, North Carolina where they lived until they moved to Milford in 1985. Mrs. Fluharty is survived by nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and many devoted friends. In addition to her parents Mrs. Fluharty was predeceased by her husband, J. Orland Fluharty in 2002; her son, Steven Fluharty in 2005; two brothers, J. Luther Stevens and Russell Stevens; and three sisters, Pauline Warner, Alberta Watson, and Catherine Talley. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014 in the Concord Cemetery, at 7112 Dion Road near Denton, Md. There will not be calling hours.
