HARRINGTON - Dorothy May Evans, with her loving family by her side, went home to Glory and her Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018.
First and foremost, Dorothy loved her family. She exemplified what it was to be the most loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend. Dorothy loved and dedicated her life to her Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ.
She worked as a C.N.A. Supervisor at the Country Rest Home in Greenwood, where she loved serving the residents, her co-workers and employer.
Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed yard sales, she was up and out at the crack of dawn searching for those the early morning deals.
She was preceded by her parents, Dorothy A. (Wilson) and Ray Luff; and father-in-law, Joseph Bruce Evans, Sr.; sisters, Nancy and Kathy; brother, Jackie; nephews, Little Eddie and Michael: her oldest daughter, Dorothy Anna 'DD'; and granddaughter, Hailey.
Dorothy is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Joseph Bruce Evans, Jr.; daughters, Jody and Jennifer; her big sister, Diane; 11 grandchildren; one great-grandson; mother-in-law, Della Evans; sisters-in-law, Della, Anna and Lillian; brother-in-law, Jimmy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She will truly be missed by those who knew and loved her.
Funeral services will be held in the sanctuary of Lighthouse Christian Center, 347 Calvary Rd., Milford on Saturday, Dec. 1, 2018 at 12 p.m. A time of visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Interment will be at Sharon Hills Cemetery, Dover.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to help defray funeral expenses can be mailed to Berry-Short Funeral Homes, 119 NW Front St., Milford, DE 19963.
