LEIPSIC - Dorothy "Dear" Sawyer of Leipsic was born in Dover, Del. on January 21, 1935. Dorothy passed away on October 21, 2014 in her home in Leipsic surrounded by her children. She was a retired CNA. She was also a former member of the Little Creek Volunteer Fire Company's Ladies Auxilary. Dorothy is survived by her son, John Peer Jr. and his wife Kay Peer of Leipsic; three daughters, Marie Hand of Little Creek, Jeannie Hastings and her husband Kelly Hastings of Magnolia, and Candy Peer of Camden; eight grandchildren; Joe Masten, Karen Masten, Jefferey Peer, David Peer, Thomas Walston, Nathan Walston, Richard Hand Jr. and Timothy Hand and sixteen great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on November 2, 2014 at the Little Creek United Methodist Church at 2:00 p.m. Instead of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Delaware Hospice.
