Dorothy Mae Thompson, 82
MILLINGTON, Md. - Dorothy Mae Thompson, of Millington, died Friday, May 23, 2008, in Chester River Manor, Chestertown. She was 82.
Dorothy was born Oct. 15, 1925, in Harrisonburg, Va., daughter of the late Robert C. and Texie Leffel Farren.
She was a homemaker moving from Severna Park to Kent County 30 years ago.
Dorothy participated with the auxiliaries of Millington Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 652 and Crumpton Volunteer Fire Co. She also enjoyed bowling.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Charles Thompson in 1988; a sister, Margurite Montan; and two brothers, Edward and Mark Farren.
Dorothy is survived by four children, Melvin Thompson and his wife Tulin and Janis Ceballos and her husband Sergio, all of Williamsburg, Va., John Thompson and his wife Carol of Spotsylvania, Va., and David E. Thompson Sr. of Millington; two brothers, James R. Farren of Hudelston, Va., and William J. Farren of Staunton, Va.; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Dennis Roman Catholic Church, 151 N. Main St. Galena, with the Rev. Leonard Blakely officiating.
Interment in Crumpton Cemetery.
