Dorothy Mae Magrew

FELTON - Dorothy Mae Magrew passed away at the Delaware Hospice Center on Sunday Oct. 4, 2015. Mrs. Magrew was born in Dover the daughter of the late Maurice and Edna (Patterson) Bohannon. She had previously worked and retired from the US Postal Service. Mrs. Magrew loved to fish, go camping, and loved to craft whether it be knitting, crocheting, or sewing. She was formerly a ski patrolman in New York and a member of the Hall of Fame with the Steppin' Seniors from the Modern Maturity Center in Dover. She loved to spend time with her family and to do the country line dancing with the Steppin' Seniors. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Maurice "Leon" Bohannon. She is survived by her son John and Julie Magrew; daughter Shannon and Brian Anderson; sister Doris Coffey; grandchildren Courtney Mabrey, Peyton Holloway, Jeremy Magrew, Taylor Magrew, James Smith, Hollie Smith, and Brenden Anderson; great-grandchild Cameron Smith; lifelong friend John "Jack" Magrew; and her very special canine friend Comet. A funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday Oct. 8, 2015 in the chapel of Berry-Short Funeral Home Main St., Felton, Del. 19943, where friends may call after 11 am. Interment will be at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery in Frederica. In lieu of flowers donations in Mrs. Magrew's memory to: Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
