Dorothy M. Lane

DOVER - Dorothy M. Lane passed away Friday, Sept. 4, 2015 at Capitol Nursing Home, Dover. Mrs. Lane was born May 19, 1930 in Camden, N.J. to the late Thomas and Dorothy Humphries Critchley. She moved to Delaware in 1964 from New Jersey. She retired from her position as a secretary at Dover High School. Mrs. Lane enjoyed sewing, painting, traveling, doing crafts, genealogy and was an avid reader. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Dover. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Lane, Sr. in 2005 and brother-in-law, Stanley Hanna. She is survived by her son, Dr. William Lane, Jr. of Lewes; daughter, Deborah Louie and her husband Dr. Lawrence Louie of Dover; sister, Mildred Hanna of Oaklyn, N.J.; grandchildren, Kristen Gill, Dr. Phillip Louie and Dr. Melissa Louie; great grandchildren, Logen, Preston and Colbie. Celebration of Life services will be held, 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 10, 2015 at the Presbyterian Church of Dover, 54 S. State Street, Dover. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to National Breast Cancer Foundation, Inc., 2600 Network Blvd., Suite 300, Frisco, Texas 75034, as she was a 39 year breast cancer survivor. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com.
