Dorothy "Dot" Louraine Chaffinch, nee Hopkins passed away peacefully on Jan. 21, 2018 surrounded by the love of her family and staff at the Dove House in Westminster, Md. She was 76 years old.
Dot was born March 8, 1941 in Chestertown, Md. She graduated from Bridgeville High School in 1959 and, while raising four children, earned a bachelors degree in Public Relations from Towson University. Dot was active in her church and was a wonderful cheerleader for her children, both in sports and in life. She had a great love for travel and visited all fifty states as well as many countries all over the world. Dot was a kind, caring and giving person, a true blessing to her family and friends.
Dot is survived by her husband of 54 years, Richard "Dick"; her four children, Randy (Violet), Craig (Carolyn), Lorna Brown (Phil) and Christine Guercio (Mike); 13 grandchildren and three great grandchildren. For over a quarter of a century "Nana" relished the time spent when the whole clan assembled for a wonderful week at the Outer Banks.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mariana Hopkins; her brother, John; and her sister, Janice Curtiss.
Services with the family will be private.
