DOVER - Dorothy (Johnson) Harrison went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 9, 2021, in Faulk Manor South Nursing Center, Wilmington.
Dot was born December 6, 1924 in Crosby, Minnesota to the late, Frederick Johnson and Catherine (Simpson) Manuel. She served proudly in the United States Army Air Corp, where she had specialized as an X-Ray technician, and continued that briefly in civilian life, working in Annapolis, Md. Dot worked for several years as an administrative assistant with the SanDel Packing Company, did U.S.D.A surveys, and worked as a Home Care Companion.
Dorothy enjoyed working with and arranging flowers, and was a member and Past President of the Sprig & Twig Garden Club. She was a member of the Willow Run Rurinettes, and was a devout Christian, attending the Calvary United Methodist Church in Marydel and the Wesley United Methodist Church, in Dover.
In addition to her parents; she was preceded in death by her husband, James Harrison; and her sister, Donelda Anderson.
Dorothy is survived by four children, Janice Butterworth and husband, Don, of Glen Mills, Pa., James Harrison, Jr. and wife, Lynn, of Kenton, Patricia Jones and husband, Glenn, of Port Richey, Florida, and John Harrison and wife, Carol, of Carney's Point, N.J.; six grandchildren, Amy Butterworth-Smiley, and husband, Doug, Andrew Butterworth, Jeffrey Butterworth, Benjamin Jones, Michael Jones, and John Harrison; and two great-grandchildren, Daisy and Miles Smiley.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 23, 2021, in Pippin Funeral Home, Inc., 119 West Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, Del.; where family and friends may view one hour before, adhering to the current Covid-19 restrictions of mask wearing, social distancing, and 50 people maximum at a time.
Burial with Military Honors will take place 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 31, 2021, in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear, Del.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sprig & Twig Garden Club Scholarship Fund.
