Dorothy (Bull) Farrell, 75
MILTON - Dorothy (Bull) Farrell of Milton passed away Monday, Oct. 22, 2007, in the Milford Center. She was 75.
Dorothy was born in Oak Hall, Va., daughter of the late Wallace and Dorothy (Thornton) Bull.
She was one of the first dispatchers at the 911 Emergency Operations Center, Georgetown. Dorothy worked at the Georgetown office for 29 years and retired in 1993. She was instrumental in training and implementing many of the centers procedures.
Dorothy was a member of the O.E.S. Chapter 9, Georgetown, the O.E.S., Temperanceville, Va., and a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Lewes.
She enjoyed gardening and reading.
Dorothy is survived by her husband, Charles E. Farrell; a daughter, Karen Simkins of Milton; two sons, William Simkins of Camden, N.Y., and Robert Simkins and his wife Luann of Princess Anne, Md.; several grandchildren; two sisters, Frances Belote of Oak Hall and Agnes Taylor of Sign Post, Va.; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Millsboro.
Contributions in Dorothy's memory can be made to the charity of choice.
