Dorothy Elizabeth (Perkins) Seaton, 93

DOVER - Dorothy Elizabeth (Perkins) Seaton of Dover, formerly of Chester, Pa., died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, in Churchman Village Nursing Center, Newark. She was 93.

Mrs. Seaton was born in Greenwood.

She was a homemaker.

Mrs. Seaton was a faithful member of St. Peter"s Non-denominational Church, formerly Spencer Memorial U.A.M.E. Church, Chester, where she was at one time the secretary and a member of the Missionary Ministry. Mrs. Seaton loved her church and sponsored many trips and enjoyed planting beautiful flowers around the church.

Her early education was in the Greenwood, Bridgeville and Seaford areas. She moved to Chester and graduated from the Chester School.

She was the daughter of the late George E. Sr. and Nancy (Smullen) Perkins; widow of the late John S. Seaton, who died Jan. 4, 1992; and sister of the late Fred Perkins, George Perkins, Simeon Perkins, Herman Perkins, Harry Perkins, Norman Perkins, Ellen Jackson, Jane Thompson and Elsie M. Payne.

She is survived by three nieces, Elsie Stewart of Wilmington, Dorothy E. May of Dover and Vivian Freeman of Egg Harbor Township, N.J.; three nephews, George Perkins and Robert Perkins, both of Wilmington, and Tyrone Perkins of Sandy Hook, Ky.; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins; a devoted brother-in-law, Spencer "Bill" Seaton of Chester; a sister-in-law, Bernice "Bootsey" Smith of Chester; a nephew, Judge Spencer Seaton and his family of Chester; and three special lifelong friends, Julia Sykes, Annabel Wright and Pearl Fontaine, all of Chester.

Services will be noon Monday in St. Peter"s Non-Denominational Church, Third and Jeffrey streets, Chester, where a viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.

Interment will be in Haven Memorial Cemetery, Chester Township.

The family will assemble at the church.

Arrangements by Earl L. Foster Funeral Home, Chester.
