CLAYTON - Dorothy E. Burke of Clayton passed away Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2008, in Broadmeadow Health Care, Middletown. She was 86.
Mrs. Burke was born May 2, 1921, in Smyrna, daughter of the late William C. and Florence (Jones) Ennis.
She was a homemaker who dedicated her life to taking care of her late husband and children.
She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8801 Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Burke was a member of St. Polycarp's Roman Catholic Church, Smyrna.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. Burke, in 2002.
She is survived by two daughters, Sue E. Smith of Dover and Betty B. Ryan and her husband Bob of Smyrna; four grandchildren, Fred Burke and his wife Corrine, Dawn Bundy, Kelly Holt and her husband Roger and Shawn Ryan and his wife Kim; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services and burial will be private.
Arrangements are by Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium, Smyrna.
