EASTON, Md. - Dorothea G. Hagemeyer, of Easton, formerly of Dover and Wilmington, Del., died Friday, Sept. 30, 2011, at Heartfields, Easton. She was 95. Mrs. Hagemeyer was born Nov. 13 1915, in New York City, daughter of the late Joseph P. and Ann T. Morgan. Mrs. Hagemeyer attended Fordham Teachers College and graduated from Fordham Law School in June 1939. From 1939-1941, she was employed by Central Hanover Bank and Trust Co., New York City, in the Estate and Trust Departments. While at the bank she met Edward, her husband, they were married in 1941. In 1949, she moved to Wilmington. From 1957 -1965, she was employed by the Mt. Pleasant School District in Wilmington as an assistant to the Librarian. Mrs. Hagemeyer moved to Dover in 1971 and was a member of the Dover Century Club. She enjoyed traveling and accomplished this desire by doing so through the United States and visiting Canada, Mexico and many countries in Europe, Asia, and Africa. In addition to her husband, who passed away in 1992, she was preceded in death by; two daughters, Barbara in 1951 and Gloria in 1971. She is survived by a loving daughter, Diane G. Amoroso of Maryland. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at the Torbert Funeral Chapel, Downtown, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in the Wilmington and Brandywine Cemetery, 701 Delaware Ave., Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association (for Research), 1151 Walker Rd., Dover, DE 19904.
