Doris Lewis, 63

BRIDGEVILLE - Doris Lewis, of Bridgeville, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 2, 2009, at Life Care at Lofland Park, Seaford. She was 63. Born in Wilmington, she is the daughter of the late Gilbert and Helen McBride. Doris was a wonderful homemaker. She enjoyed cooking and baking for her wonderful family, working in her garden, and going to the beach. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joesph Lewis who passed away in 2006; and her sister, Jean Marie Ferreira. Doris is survived by two sons, Joseph Lewis of Bridgeville and Timothy Lewis of Seaford; two daughters, Judy Murphy of Greenwood and Wendy Chaffinch of Seaford; a brother, Gilbert McBride Jr. of Wilmington; her grandchildren, Joshua Lewis, Amber Wilson, Nicholas Murphy, Autumn Lewis, and Garrett Murphy; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 6 at the Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West Street, Laurel, where friends may call one hour prior. Rev. Roland Tice will officiate. Interment will be private.
