DOVER - Doris Evelyn Dickey passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2015 in Kent General Hospital. Mrs. Dickey was born April 20, 1929 in Dover, Del. to the late Thomas Dixon and Radie Scotten Dixon. She had studied 4 years at Ohio State University College of Dentistry Research sponsored by Proctor and Gamble and Perdue University. She worked for the State of Delaware in the Public Health Department as an Administrative Secretary for 32 years retiring in 1984. Mrs. Dickey enjoyed traveling, spending time at the Delaware beaches, knitting and watching the Phillies. In addition to her parents and several brothers and sisters, she was preceded in death by her husband Floyd D. Dickey, 2011. She is survived by her son, Jeff Dickey and his wife Ellen of Dover; daughter, Deborah Bauman and her husband Scott of Atlanta, Ga.; sister, Ellen Dixon Attix of Dover; grandchildren, Jared and Jacob Dickey, Derek and Joshua Bauman and Amy Bauman Butler; and great grandchildren, Madison and Logan Butler, and Atticus Bauman. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m., Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Torbert funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Dover. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to USO Delaware, 500 Purple Heart Way, DAFB, Dover, Del. 19902.
