Doris Elizabeth Sandidge

Doris Elizabeth (Vincent) Sandidge, 79 RALIEGH, N.C. - Doris Elizabeth Vincent Sandidge, 79, died June 21, 2008, at her home in Raleigh, after a period of declining health. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Doris was born in Harrington, Del., on Oct. 17, 1928, daughter of William Homer and Elizabeth Watson Cordray Vincent. She graduated from Harrington High School in 1947, and married Melvin D. "Bo" Sandidge of Dover, Del., in 1950. Doris and Bo lived in Dover until they moved to Raleigh in 1987. Doris and Bo were active in the Presbyterian Church of Dover for many years. In Raleigh, they were members of Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church. She is survived by Bo Sandidge, her husband of 58 years; daughter Brenda Sue Sandidge Withers and husband Andrew of Raleigh; daughter Karen Ann Sandidge Trast and husband David of East Windsor, N.J.; and three grandchildren, Emily Claire Withers of Greenville, N.C., and Ellen Rebecca and Eric William Trast, both of East Windsor, N.J. She is also survived by a brother, Robert Homer "Bobby" Vincent of Harrington. A memorial service for Doris will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Hudson Memorial Presbyterian Church, Raleigh. The family will receive friends in the church parlor immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Presbyterian Church of Dover, 54 S. State St., Dover, DE 19901. Arrangements were made by the Cremation Society of the Carolinas. Visit www.cremnc.com for online condolences.
