Doris B. Boyce, 79

LAUREL - Doris B. Boyce, of Laurel, passed away Monday, May 19, 2008, in Delmar Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was 79.

She was born in Hackensack, N.J., daughter of the late Norris and Lillian Blackson.

Mrs. Boyce was retired, once working at Southern States, Laurel. She was also a school bus driver and a chicken farmer.

She was member of Mount Zion Untied Methodist Church, Laurel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Robert Boyce.

Mrs. Boyce is survived by her daughter, Linda Groton and her husband Don of Laurel; a sister, Evelyn Davis of Laurel; her grandchildren, Tanya Smart, Renee Austin and Dwayne Groton; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Christ Evangelistic Church, Camp Road, Laurel, where a viewing will be one hour prior.

Pastor Roland Tice and Associate Pastor Don Groton will officiate.

Interment will follow in Asbury United Methodist Church Cemetery, Laurel.

Arrangements are by Hannigan, Short, Disharoon Funeral Home, 700 West St., Laurel.
