Doris Ann Young, 70
SMYRNA - Doris Ann Young of Smyrna died Thursday, Feb. 15, 2007, in the Delaware Home and Hospital for the Chronically Ill, Smyrna, where she had been a resident for 111/2 years. She was 70.
Mrs. Young was born Feb. 5, 1937, in Goldsboro, Md., daughter of the late Clark and Rosie Bradley Smith.
She was a homemaker and was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
Mrs. Young was a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Denton, Md.
She enjoyed her earlier life on the family farm with her husband and children. Her hobbies included watching the soaps and reading.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Young in 1994; a son, James W. Young in 1995; a brother, William Smith; and a sister, Pearl Hudson.
She is survived by three daughters, JoAnn Jarman and her husband, William Jr. of Camden, Virginia Johnson of Camden and Rosemarie Young and her companion, Morgan Couden of Camden; three sisters, Margaret Daughtery of Smyrna, Edith Edwards of Felton and Sara Jane Cahall of Goldsboro; seven grandchildren, Tony Young and his wife, Stacy of Beckley, W.Va., Matthew Young of Camden, Timothy Lee Young of Milford, William Andrew Jarman III, Tammy Hunter, Jesse Hunter and Erica Johnson, all of Camden; a great-granddaughter, Ashton McKenna Young of Beckely, W.Va.; and her extended family of friends and caregivers at the Delaware Home and Hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Pippin Funeral Home, 119 W. Camden-Wyoming Ave., Wyoming, where friends may call one hour earlier.
Burial will be in Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover.
Instead of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to Heartland Hospice Services, 261 Chapman Road, Suite 100, Newark, DE 19702.
