Grier, 77 SUDLERSVILLE - Donald Walraven Grier of Sudlersville, Md. died on Wednesday, Dec.. 26, 2012 at Univeristy of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Md. Mr. Grier was born on November 15, 1935 in Wilmington, DE. He was the son of the late Willis Crawford and Lelia Margaret Walraven Grier. In 1954, Mr. Grier graduated from Sudlersville High School. He then attended Wesley College and Lycoming College graduating with a business degree. Mr. Grier started working with Tenaco in Worton, Md. He later worked with General Foods, now Kraft Foods, in Dover, Del.. Mr. Grier was a charter member of the Sudlersville Ruritan Club, achieving Ruritan of the Year in 2007. He was also a member of the Templeville Community Church. Mr. Grier enjoyed painting watercolors and oils, bowling, and had a love for cats. In addition to his wife, Dorothy "Dottie" Grier, he is survived by two grandchildren, Ashley Katherine Toulson of Salisbury, Md., and Lindsay Nicole Toulson of Sudlersville, Md., a sister, Beverly A. Green of Newark, Del.; two brothers, Willis C. Grier and wife Ruth of Newark, Del., and Robert F. Grier of Newark, Del.; a sister-in-law, Jeanne Kutchman of Pa.; and a son-in-law, William "Speedy" Toulson of Sudlersville; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents Mr. Grier was preceded in death by his daughter, Dawn Marie Grier Toulson. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012 at noon at Fellows, Helfenbein & Newnam Funeral Home, P.A. 370 W. Cypress St. Millington, MD where relatives and friends may call on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 from 6 p.m to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Sudlersville Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Educational Fund for Ashley and Lindsay Toulson, c/o PNC Bank 103 Main Street Sudlersville, MD 21668.
