GEORGETOWN - Donald W. Taylor, 69, of Georgetown, died on Sept. 7, 2011, after a courageous 1 ½ year battle with cancer. He graduated from Georgetown High School and attended Warren Wilson College in Ashville, N.C. Don was vice-president of Production at Draper Canning Company for 33 years, Hanover Foods for 11 years and a partner in Delmarva Real Estate Services, Inc. Upon retiring, he enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, fishing and boating. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irvin and Stella Taylor of Georgetown. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, June; his daughters and their spouses, Robin and Bob Cox of Delmar and Donna and Tom Adams of Midlothian, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Jo Ann Taylor of Georgetown; and sister, Alma Taylor of Flagler Beach, Fla.; mother-in-law, Maud P. Hastings of Georgetown; grandchildren, Grace Adams and Taylor, Haylie and Steven Cox; brother-in-law and spouse, Jennings and Lisa Hastings of Smyrna; and brother-in-law, James Hastings of Georgetown; nephews, William and Lynwood Taylor; and nieces, Julie Stafford and Kendra Hastings. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, 2011, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown. Graveside services will be private at Union Cemetery, Georgetown. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
