Donald R. Miller

DOVER - Donald R. Miller passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family in the early morning of April 11, 2018.
Born in San Luis Obispo, Calif. on April 26, 1938. He graduated from Modesto High School in California in 1956. Following his graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he proudly served 22 years retiring as MST SGT E7 in 1978.
He was President of the First State Pro Pinochle Club where he enjoyed playing with very dear friends that became family to him over the years.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Ellen (Betty) Pifferini; and his father, Richard Wallace Miller.
On March 1, 2018 Don and his loving wife Rita celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary. They had two beautiful children, Cathleen D. George of Dover; and Glen A. Miller of Dover.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Miller of Dover; his son, Glen A. Miller and his wife Natalie G. Miller of Dover; his step-father, Raymond J Pifferini of Modesto, Calif.; his sister, Trudy Kennedy of Temecula, Calif.; Michele E. Bowles of Dover who is like a daughter to him; as well as a host of wonderful and loving friends.
There will be no services.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Delaware Hospice as a thank you for the amazing service and care they provided.
