
Donald R. Caron, Sr., 88
Donald R. Caron, Sr. passed away in Dover, Delaware, on May 8, 2021, after a short illness. Born in Salem, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Ephrem Caron and Clara Bourque Caron.
Donald retired as a TSgt of the USAF. In later years, he had an appliance repair business. He was a member of Smyrna American Legion Post 14 and a charter member of the Smyrna Clayton Moose Lodge 2046. He also enjoyed participating in bowling and pool leagues in the area.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy R. Caron; his sisters, Lorraine DeVoe and Irene McDougal (Michael); sons, Donald R. Caron II (Rhonda), Timothy Caron; stepchildren, Paul Cadmus, Jr. (Joan), Dennis Cadmus, Susan Cadmus, Rebecca Yetter, and Eric Cadmus (Jin); as well as several nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his brother, Philip L. Caron, Sr.; his brother-in-law, Bob DeVoe; his stepson, Thomas Cadmus, Sr.; and three grandsons.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main Street in Smyrna. Funeral services will begin at 12 p.m. Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 10 a.m. at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, Delaware.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the American Legion Post 14 of Smyrna.
