The only son of Emily Austin and Lee Albert Wallace, Donald was born in Omaha, Neb. and spent the next four years in St. Joseph, Mo. before moving to Oakland, Calif. After graduating from Fremont High School, he earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Arizona State where he played basketball and later studied Real Estate at UC Berkeley. Education in Real Estate Appraising continued through 2017.
Donald's lifetime career of fifty years as a Real Estate Appraiser included Review Appraiser with the City of Phoenix; D.L. Wallace Appraiser, Ltd in Mesa, Ariz.; Assistant VP and Regional Review Appraiser with Bank of America in California; Senior Residential Appraiser and, eventually, National Chief Appraiser/VP with CLT Appraisal Management Co., Division of Commonwealth Land Title in Wayne, Pa.; Appraisal Review Associates/Don Wallace SRA in Delaware.
A quiet man of intelligence, Don was an avid reader and traveler. He enjoyed wine-making of prize-winning varieties. Boating, old western movies, great jazz and good old country music were his loves.
He will be missed by his wife of almost forty-two years, Mary Helen (Holiney) Wallace; son, Daniel Lee; daughter, Kathlene Rose Clarke (Brian); grandson, Cody James Clarke; niece, Diane Dragonette; nephews, Joseph (Gloria), John (Cathy), Stephen (Jane) Dragonette; great-nieces, Laura and Christine; and great-nephews, Joseph and Michael Dragonette.
Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Peace Church, 208 Milmont Avenue, Milmont Park, Pa., where friends may call from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m.
