FELTON - Donald Lee (The Dog) Hutchins passed away Thursday, Nov. 10 2016 at home. Donald was born Mar. 1, 1947 in Dover to the late Thomas H. Hutchins and Cora M. Reed. He retired from the Capitol School District where he worked as a custodian; after retiring he was a driver for the Amish. Donald enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and his Renegade Trike. He also enjoyed hunting and old Country music, Patsy Cline his favorite. He was a free spirit, he was blatantly honest, and would let you know where he stood on things, but he also had a gentle side and would happily do anything to help a friend. His sarcasm and honesty will be missed by each and every one who came in contact with Donald. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by brothers, Charles and Thomas Hutchins; and his fiancée, Christine Cassasa who passed on the same day. He is survived by his loving sisters, Cora Marie Yoder and her husband Jacob of Hartly; Debra Fendt and Carol Ann Shockley both of Dover. Nicholas Malone whom he loved as a son; nieces, nephews and numerous close friends who were essentially family to Donald. Services will be held 12 Noon, Sunday, Nov. 20, 2016 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call one hour prior. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 S. Bradford Street, Dover, DE 19904, to help defray funeral expenses. Letters of condolences may be sent and guest book signed at www.torbertfuneral.com DE-Donald-Hutchins.jpg
