REHOBOTH BEACH - Donald L. Bailey passed away Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014 at home. He was born in Milton, one of twelve children born to Howard and Melba (Coppes) Bailey. Donald was retired from the Sussex County Courthouse after 20 years' service in the maintenance and library departments. He loved and adored his grandkids and was a man with many friends. In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his eleven siblings: Jimmy Bailey, John "Juke" Bailey, Howard "Toby" Bailey, George Bailey, Cecil "Pete" Bailey, Clarence "Jigger" Bailey, Richard Bailey, Jane Adams, Betty Ann Johnson, Vera Foraker and Nancy White. He is survived by two daughters, Michelle "Missy" Davis and husband Robin, and Olivia Derrickson and husband Bryan; his ex-wife with whom he remained dear friends, Joyce Bailey; his best friend and wonderful caregiver, William "Bill" Jones, with whom he lived; five grandchildren, Tara and Shawn Davis, Hannah, Abbey and Natalie Derrickson; a great-grandson whom he was blessed with, Brody Vickers; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, 416 Federal Street, Milton, Del., with visitation after 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.
