Mellott, Sr., 69 HARRINGTON - Donald Guy Mellott, Sr., 69, of Harrington, passed away on January 30, 2015, surrounded by his family. He was born November 20, 1945, the oldest of seven children of the late Charles and Madeline Mellott. He served his country with honor as a paratrooper and medic in the 101st Airborne Division of the US Army. Don loved raising his sons, working with his hands, gardening, camping, boating, and running, and he was very fond of German Shepherds. He is survived by his four sons, Don (Debbie) Mellott, Jr., Phil Mellott, Craig Mellott, and Matt (Danielle) Mellott; 11 grandchildren; and many extended family members. A viewing will be 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Friday, February 13, 2015 in the Faries Funeral Chapel, located at 29 S. Main St. in Smyrna. Funeral Services will begin Friday at 12:30 p.m. Lifelong friend, Reverend Don Hagen, will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear.
