Donald F. "Pop-Pop" Glosenger Sr., 72
FELTON - Donald F. "Pop-Pop" Glosenger Sr. of Felton died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2007, in Bayhealth-Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 72.
Mr. Glosenger was born in Carbondale, Pa., son of the late Walter and Laura Glosenger.
He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy for more than 10 years. At one point he served on the same ship as Elvis Presley.
While living in New Jersey he was active in the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Mr. Glosenger was an electrician for more than 32 years with Schivone Construction Co. in Secaucus, N.J. He also worked at Kenkel Auto Parts as a driver.
In his spare time he enjoyed watching football and visiting local casinos. He also enjoyed fishing and taught his children how to fish.
Mr. Glosenger will be remembered as an easygoing person who was well liked and loved by all. He was very dependable, but also a jokester and liked to have fun.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, who will be sadly missed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Henry and Merle; and his sisters, Helen, Lois and Evelyn.
He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Genevieve "Jenny" Glosenger of Felton; a son and his wife, Donald F. Jr. and Patti Glosenger of Harrington; two daughters and a son-in-law, Donna Colatrella of Felton and Patricia and Richard Weis of Edison, N.J.; a brother, Elwood Glosenger; four sisters, Marion, Barbara, Vivian and Eleanor; and his grandchildren, Mandi Glosenger, Margaret Weis and Justin Colatrella.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 S. Dupont Highway, Harrington.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Delaware Veterans Cemetery Chapel, Bear.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the St. Jude"s Children"s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
