Dollie M. Hickman, 85

OCEAN VIEW - Dollie M. Hickman, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008, in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 85. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Carroll Edward Powell in 1968; her sister, Alma Jones in 2005; and brother, William Webb in 2006. She is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, Lloyd H. "Billo" Hickman; two sisters, Mazie H. Pruitt of Delmar, Elizabeth Hudson of Laurel; a granddaughter, Dawn Powell Hudson; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was 2 p.m. Sunday at the chapel of Melson Funeral Services on West Avenue in Ocean View. Burial was in Mariner's Bethel Cemetery in Ocean View. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contribution in Dollie's memory to Delaware Hospice Center, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE 19963.
