Denny A. Jackson

Denny A. Jackson, 86

PRICE, MD. - Denny A. Jackson, of Price, Md., died June 11, 2008, in his home. He was 86.

Mr. Jackson was born on May 7, 1922, in Church Hill, Md., son of the late William and Sarah Lewis Jackson.

He enlisted in 1945 with the U.S. Army and served in the European Theatre. He returned to Church Hill in 1947 working on the family farm. He was a carpenter for Church Hill Lumber for 12 years, had owned and operated the Price Restaurant and Truck Stop for five years and worked for Friel's Cannery for 20 years until retiring in 2002.

He had lived in Price for the last 46 years. Mr. Jackson was a life member of the Millington Veterans of Foreign War Post 652.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by a sister Myrtle Jarrell.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Ethel Jane Smith Jackson; two daughters Sara J. Brill and her husband Gerald F., of Hartly, and Diane Harchar and her husband Michael of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; two brothers John Owens Lane of Pondtown, Md., and William Jackson of Stanton; a sister Louise Holden of Chestertown, Md.; and three grandchildren Jennifer Lynn Brill, Stephanie Harchar and Brian Hicks.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday in the Galena Funeral Home of Stephen L. Schaech, 118 W. Cross St., Galena, Md.., where friends may call one hour prior. Burial will be in Crumpton Cemetery.
