GREENWOOD - Dennis Lee Mullen, departed this life on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, in the Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. He was 70. Born on April 10, 1938, in Elizabeth City, N.C., he was the son of the late Deacon Dennis R. Mullen and Clara M. Bowe Mullen. He attended Palmer Elementary School, and Slaughter Neck Grade School. Dennis married his childhood sweetheart, the former Percilla M. Benson on Dec. 25, 1958. He rededicated his life to the Lord in 2003, prior to his retirement. Dennis was long-distance truck driver for several years. His CB handle was "King Rat". Being a very diligent worker, Dennis achieved whatever he planned to do; rather a entrepreneur of a gas station, an auto service manager, race car driver, gardener, or a long-distance truck driver. He was always willing to help someone, or to teach them his trade. We will always remember Dennis for his sense of humor and choice of witty words. Dennis leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Pastor Percilla Mae Mullen, Greenwood; two daughters, Mrs. Dotheasus Mullen Brinkley, Dover and Mrs. Demetria (Henry) Anderson, Bluebell, Pa.; three sons, Mr. Wendell A. Williams, East Point, Ga., Minister Tobias A. (Philana) Mullen, Dover and Khalif F. Mullen, Greenwood; five sisters, Mrs. Ollie Jean (Deacon Clyde) Spence, Laurel, Mrs. Clara Stein (Pastor Orlando) Riley, Newark, N.J., Mrs. Deborah (Pastor Willie G.) Thomas, Milford, Mrs. Denise Harper, Lincoln and Mrs. Dynette (Elder Charles) Brooks, Magnolia; two brothers, Deacon Leslie (Marboline) Mullen, Ellendale and Mr. Alvin (Deborah) Mullen, Pikesville, Md.; two aunts, Mrs. Emma M. (Robert) Lee, Hempstead, N.Y. and Mrs. Jessie Lee Bowe, Dover; one uncle, Mr. Leroy Mullen, Georgetown; six grandchildren, Mrs.Tanika Latoya (Clarence) Baskerville, Charlotte, N.C., Mr. Michael Brinkley Jr., Fayetteville, N.C., Mr. Tevon David (Katrina) Brinkley, Dover, Aniyah Gabrielle Mullen, Dover, and Nasira Anderson, Bluebell, Pa.; six great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. today at the Pentecostal Church of God of Lincoln, Greentop Road, Lincoln, where friends may also call two hours prior to the service. Burial will be in the Old Hickory Cemetery, Slaughter Neck. Arrangements are being handled by Bennie Smith Funeral Home, Milford.
