DOVER - Dennis Carroll Braxton, son of the late Robert Thomas Braxton, Jr. and Canary Mae Braxton, was born in Philadelphia, Pa., on July 20, 1955. On March 10, 2011, he went home to be with the Lord. Dennis attended and graduated West Philadelphia High School. He was one who liked driving and being outdoors, so all of his jobs put him in contact with people. While in Philadelphia, he worked as a driver for Avis Rental Car, Genesis Elder Care Network, and AAA Mid-Atlantic. Dennis relocated to Dover, in 2001 and worked as a driver for Capital Uniforms and Linens, Delaware State News, Culligan Water, G&K Services, Generations Home Care, Diamond Transportation, The News Journal and Shirey's Auto Sales. Dennis was a quite spirited person, but at the same time he would say or do something funny and have you laughing. He enjoyed being on the computer, listening to music, basketball, football and family gatherings. Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Robert Thomas Braxton, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Robert Thomas Braxton, Sr. and Lennie Braxton; and maternal grandparents, Haywood Speights and Gladys Redwood. He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Canary Mae Braxton; brother, Robert Thomas Braxton, III; a sister, Starlet "Star" Harden (Braxton); nephew, Shawn Harden, all of Dover; twin daughters, Stephanie and Celeste Braxton; two aunts, Roberta Fitzgerald (Lynwood), and Alese Braxton of Philadelphia, Pa.; an aunt, Annette Braxton of New Jersey; an uncle, Ronnie Redwood (Mary); an aunt, Deborah Redwood of Georgia; a host of very special family friends, Sterling Jones, the Fitzroy Family of Philadelphia, and Karen Villa of Virginia; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Although our hearts may be burdened, we are thankful and grateful that God allowed us to keep him for so many years. We only ask that God who never makes a mistake, sustain us during our bereavement and give us the strength to accept the fact that His will, not ours, must be done. Service will be 5 p.m., Sunday, March 20, at the Bread of Life Church, 107 Broad St., Wyoming, where viewing will be one hour earlier. Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday at Sharon Hills Memorial Park, Dover. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the family. Letters of condolences can be sent via
