Denise M. Warnett, 65
SMYRNA, Del. - Denise M. Warnett climbed the stairwell to heaven on January 27, 2022 following an unexpected illness.
Denise was born on August 7, 1956 in Painesville, Ohio. Upon moving to Delaware in 2002, she spent a short time working at Dover Downs Hotel and Casino. Her remaining years were spent working for the State of Delaware Department of Insurance as an Administrative Specialist.
Denise was a social butterfly who was involved in many organizations such as The American Legion Auxiliary, Moose Lodge 2046, and Eastern Stars to name a few. In her free time she enjoyed, shopping, traveling, and spending time with loved ones. Denise was a breast cancer survivor who volunteered her time to local breast cancer charities.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Smith Diggs; and her father, Will Smith Jr. She leaves behind a loving husband, Harold; and daughter, Courtney; as well as her two brothers, five sisters, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Faries Funeral Home, 29 South Main Street, Smyrna, Delaware. Viewing hours will be held from 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. Services will follow immediately after. The services will be streamed on the Faries Funeral Directors and Crematorium Facebook page beginning at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday, February 12, 2022. A repast will be held at the American Legion (Walter L. Fox) Post 2 in Dover, Delaware following funeral services.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.
