Deirdre D. 'Dee Dee' Brown, 47
Deirdre D. "Dee Dee" Brown of Dover died Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, in University of Maryland Medical Center, Baltimore, from complications following a stroke and diagnosis of cancer. She was 47.
Ms. Brown was born Nov. 23, 1959, in Bangor, Maine, daughter of Mattie P. Brown and the late Allen McCoy Brown.
She worked full-time at Army and Air Force Exchange Service on Dover Air Force Base for 25 years and part-time in Bath and Body Works in Dover Mall.
She was a loving mother and grandmother and a devoted friend to many.
Ms. Brown was a member of the American Legion, Walter L. Fox Post 2. She was also a member of the Cavalier's extended family.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Derek Allen Brown.
She is survived by her mother, Mattie P. Brown; her only daughter and her son-in-law, Amber L. (Brown) and Matthew D. Dexheimer of Spangdahlem, Germany; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Sharon and Greg Walker of Roswell, Ga., and Allena E. Brown of Camden; two grandchildren, Owen B. Dexheimer and Kailey A. Dexheimer; and two nieces, Gaelyn B. and Erryn A. Walker, both of Roswell.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Whatcoat United Methodist Church, Saulsbury Road, Dover, where friends may call two hours earlier.
Burial will be in Whatcoat Cemetery by Silver Lake, Dover.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to The American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718; or a charity of choice.
