FELTON - David Wayne Oldham, passed away Thursday, July 5, 2012, at Kent General Hospital, following an illness, surrounded by his family. David was born October 22, 1954, in Margate, N.J., to the late Robert and Anna Oldham. David filled his free time with his family, and loved fishing, playing pool, horseshoes, the Casino, Jimmy Buffet concerts, watching his John Wayne westerns, Bruce Lee movies, and shows like CSI and Criminal Minds and listening to his music. He also treasured his beloved pets; his cats, Mush and Peanut Butter, and his dogs, Jada and Nyoby, they were like family to him. David's true love was his family, but his passion was being on the water. David belonged to the Loyal Order of the Moose, and was a proud union man for over 30 years with Local 25 IUOE, he retired as a lead Dredgeman. David served in the United States Army for over eight years. He was a die-hard New York Giants fan, and coached Little League for Felton. David was a strong and determined man who knew the importance of a good work ethic. He worked hard, and during his downtime he enjoyed his life just as hard. It has been said that if you can find something you love to do, you'll never have to work a day in your life. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley R. Oldham and Steven Oldham. He leaves behind his loving wife and companion, Margaret Oldham; and five children, Wes Brady, Dallas Brady, David Oldham, Jr. Brandon Oldham, and Reese Oldham; and he will be deeply missed by his siblings, Elaine Bonjiorno, of Burlington, N.J., Mark Oldham and his wife, Debbie, of Hartly, Malcolm Oldham and his wife, Donna, of Newark, Sherry Feague and her husband, David, of Bowers Beach, Tracie Ware and her husband, Bill, of Dover; his mother-in-law, Janice Davidson, and many loving grandchildren; as well as a host of friends and co-workers. A viewing for David will be held from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Pippin Funeral Home on Tuesday July 10, 2012, with services beginning immediately at 7 p.m. A fellowship will take place at JP's on the Wharf at Bowers Beach. Cremation will follow. Letters of condolences can be sent via www.pippinfuneralhome.com.
