01/06/84 – 08/24/16 LINCOLN, Neb. - David T. Henning, formerly of Laurel, passed away this past Aug. 24, 2016, from complications resulting from an automobile accident. David's passing is mourned by his parents, Mark and Sandra-Dee Henning, of Milton; brothers, Mark, Jr., and Christopher Henning, of Old Forge, Pa.; sisters, Samantha Layton, of Laurel, Tesa Pyle, of Lewes, Katrina Henning, of Tananarive, Madagascar, Chelsea Henning, of Lincoln, Neb., and Olivia Henning, of Long Neck; not to mention aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends across the entire country. David was a disabled Iraqi War veteran and a strong advocate for organ donation. His last self-less act on this earth was to save the lives of five other people. A memorial celebration honoring David's life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 at the American Legion Post #19 in Laurel, from 12 noon until 4 p.m. with full Military Honors. In lieu of flowers and gifts, the family asks for donations in David's honor to be made to the Home of the Brave Facility #2 in Milford, for homeless transitioning veterans.
