David Strauther Houston Jr., 79
RIDGELY - David Strauther Houston Jr., formerly of Rock Hall, passed away Thursday, Dec. 11, 2008, in Ruxton Health in Denton, Md. He was 79. He was born Dec. 19, 1928 in Morgantown, W.V., son of the late David S. Houston Sr. Mr. Houston worked for Haven Harbour in Rock Hall as a caretaker. He had at one time worked for the Baltimore City Police Department in his younger years. He was a World War II Army Air Corp veteran, serving with the Air Born Rangers. He was a member of the Blue Knights, Glen Burnie Chapter. He enjoyed riding his Harley and visiting the Glen Burnie Dunkin Donuts. He was preceded in death by his father, David Houston Sr. He is survived by his three sons, David Houston, of Ridgely, Md., Robert Houston, of Camden, and Joseph Houston, of Henderson, Md.; a daughter, Patricia Dolan, of Greensboro, Md.; nine grandchildren, Andrea Simms, Jessica, Nickie, Tyler, Jacob, Matthew, Katelyn, Lani, and Stephanie Houston; and one great-grandchild, Dominick Simms. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, P.A. Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 at Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, Md.
