David Richey Dick

DOVER - David Richey Dick, Sr. passed away on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at home.
Dave was born Aug. 16, 1937 in Atlantic City, N.J. to the late F. Justin Dick and Clare Carroll Ross Dick.
Dave worked 35 years for MetLife. Prior to MetLife, he worked at many different jobs to put himself through college, graduating as the youngest CPA in New Jersey. He was also a member of the Cape May Court House Fire Company in New Jersey. In addition, he was a member of the United Methodist Church and The American Legion. Known as "Pops", he was a wonderful dad, granddad and great granddad. He loved his grandkids visits and taking them to all the different tourist attractions in the area. Dave had a long time love of surf fishing and driving throughout the United States.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Frederick J. Dick, Jr.; and sister, Diane Carroll Dick.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Jayne Muchler Dick of Dover; his son and daughter-in-law, David R. Jr. and F. Liza Dick, his daughter and son-in-law, Diane C. and Fred Mullins, daughter, Debra L. Dick, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren, two sister and brother-in-laws, Sally H. and Sherman L. Tomasino, and Drucilla C. and R. Rex Schutte; sister-in-law, S. Jean Dick, sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anne and Bill Hallett, beloved caregiver and friend Joyce Bordley, and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held 3 p.m., Monday, March 26, 2018 at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10), Dover. Friends may call from 1 to 3 p.m. Interment will be held at Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions be made to Vitas Hospice, 100 Commerce Dr. Suite #302, Newark, DE 19713.
