CAMDEN - David Paul Ward, of Dover, passed away suddenly Thursday March 5, 2009, in his home. He was 52. David was born May 4, 1956, in Maine to Edward H. and Juliette C. Ward. A lifelong Delawarean, David grew up in the Camden area and graduated in 1974 from Caesar Rodney High School. He received a bachelors degree in Accounting from the Delaware State University in 1978. At an early age, David developed a fond pleasure for golf, fishing and bowling. He won many bowling tournaments throughout the state. David was the recipient of awards at both State and National levels which included Delaware State University bowling league during his collegiate years, and was a member of the Professional Bowler's Association (PBA). During his accounting career, David touched the lives of many and was always willing to do friends and family annual taxes. Many words can be used to describe David; a kind, thoughtful person with a great sense of humor. He was a wonderful friend to many. David is survived by his beloved and only son of 17 years, Kevin M. Ward of Dover; his parents, Edward and Juliette Ward; older brother, Greg Ward all of Felton, younger brother, Tony Ward of Camden; two nephews, Joshua Ward of Ft. Myers, Fla., and Ryan Ward of Felton; four nieces, Amanda, Jessica and Kelsie Ward all of the Dover area and Jillian Ward of New Bern, N.C. A visitation will be held to celebrate David's life from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Torbert Funeral Chapel South, 1145 E. Lebanon Road (Rt.10) Dover. Prayers will be at 7 p.m. Letters of condolence may be sent, and guestbook may be signed at www.torbertfuneral.
