David was a 1977 graduate of Caesar Rodney High School. He was a volunteer coach for Camden-Wyoming Little League and Camden Pop Warner Football League for over 10 years. Many of his former players still called him "Coach". David worked in the construction industry as a carpenter, mason and seamless rain gutter mechanic for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, hunting, fishing, cooking, classic cars, gardening & LOVED rock and roll music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Jefferson and Ann Shelor; and his older brother, Richard Kelly Shelor.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Susan McPhee Shelor; his sister, Lynda Errera; his son, David Matthew Shelor (Nathalie); daughter, Diana Broadway (Charles); grandchildren, Maddox Shelor, Jordan Shelor, Brooklyn Shelor, Madison Shelor, Rowen Broadway; and beloved McPhee family members, nieces & nephews, extended family and friends he considered family.
