GEORGETOWN – David M. Dimes, Jr. passed away peacefully at Delaware Hospice. He was the son of David M. Dimes, Sr. and Ella Mae (Carter) Dimes.
At 18 years old he served his country in the Navy for four years during the Korean conflict. David was a member of McColley's United Methodist Church, a member of the American Legion Post #6 in Seaford, enjoyed going to Nascar races and boating. He was a die-hard Cowboys fan and he loved his little Chihuahuas, Peanut and Bubba.
Dave drove an 18-wheeler into his early 80's. He drove for 25 years for Playtex in Dover. He also drove for General Doors Corp. in Milford and Harbor House Seafood in Seaford. Dave enjoyed going out for his favorite meal, breakfast and loved Agnes's homemade potato salad.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife in 2013, Mary; infant son, Craig; oldest son, Thomas; and brother, William.
Dave is survived by his son, Terry and wife Resa; his girlfriend and caregiver, Mary Beth; his sister Barbara; and several grandchildren.
He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Funeral services are private. There will be a Celebration of Life Service in the spring of 2019.
