SMYRNA - David C. Pleasanton passed away on Dec. 16, 2016. He was born in Dover on Feb. 12, 1945, the son of the late William and Elizabeth Pleasanton. Mr. Pleasanton was a graduate of John Bassett Moore High School, Smyrna, and was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War who attained the rank of Specialist E5. He was employed as an electrician at Chrysler Corp., Newark, retiring after 35 years of service. He enjoyed working on his historic home, vacationing, and writing political commentary for the paper. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lloyd, William, and Leonard Pleasanton. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lloyd, William, and Leonard Pleasanton. He is survived by his spouse, Bunny Pleasanton (married Dec. 14, 1979), of Smyrna; a daughter, Sharon Niner (spouse Doug Niner), of Smyrna; a sister, Donna Fell, of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; numerous nieces and nephews; his cats, Coco, Cleo, and Indy; and a grand-cat named J.J. Memorial services will be held 5:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 23, 2016, at Matthews-Bryson Funeral Home, 123 W. Commerce St., Smyrna, where friends may call at 4:30 p.m. Pastor Dale Brown will officiate. After the service, friends are invited to join the family at a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 23, 2016 at the Fellowship Hall of Asbury United Methodist Church, 20 W. Mt.
