GREENSBORO, Md. - David Andrew Miller Sr. of Greensboro died Monday, Sept. 3, 2007, in Chester River Hospital, Chestertown. He was 79.

He was born May 10, 1928, in Carmody Hills, to the late Lawrence Harvey and Isabelle Keithley Miller.

Mr. Miller served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during World War II.

After serving his country, he was a furniture upholsterer.

Mr. Miller worked for Macwood Upholstery in Southeast Washington, D.C. Later he worked for Guido Upholstery in Capitol Heights.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sylvia (Gardner) Miller of Greensboro; three sons, David Miller Jr. of Greensboro, Benjamin Miller of Baltimore, and Mitchell Miller of Odenton; three daughters, Sylvia Kegley of Linkwood, Delilah Kern of Whiteface, Texas, and Patricia Dille of Federalsburg; two sisters, June Poffenbarger of Portsmouth, Va., and Louise White of Temple Hills; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday in Fleegle and Helfenbein Funeral Home, Greensboro, where friends may call one hour prior.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery.
