Daisy Campbell Blackwell, 81

MILFORD - Daisy Campbell Blackwell of Milford died of natural causes Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2006, in Genesis ElderCare-Milford Center. She was 81.

Mrs. Blackwell was born in Winston-Salem, N.C., daughter of the late Robert Lee Campbell and Daisy (Govan) Campbell Liles.

She was a home health aide for four years.

She enjoyed cooking and taking care of people. She called everyone "Baby Doll."

Mrs. Blackwell was a member of Mount Enon Baptist Church, Milford.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Blackwell, in 1986; a son, James Edward Blackwell Jr., in 2003; and a sister, Julia Belle Campbell.

She is survived by three daughters, Kay Baynerd of Seaford, Janice Love of Dover and Maxine Wanzer of Milford; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and a host of friends.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in Jesus is Lord Church of Deliverance, 40 Ingramtown Road, Georgetown, where friends may call one hour earlier. Pastor Bonnie Bigelow will officiate.

Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery.

Instead of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to help defray funeral expenses.
