Courtland Robert Brown

Courtland Robert Brown, 86

CENTREVILLE, Md. - Courtland Robert Brown went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2008, in Corsica Hills Nursing Home, where he resided the last seven years. He was 86.

Mr. Brown was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Delaware, son of the late William and Agatha Brown.

He was a farmer and agriculture equipment mechanic.

Mr. Brown was a veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army from Nov. 25, 1942, to Jan. 5, 1946.

He married Virginia Walls Brown on Dec. 26, 1947.

Mr. Brown attended Barclay Assembly of God.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Virginia Brown on Oct. 20, 2001; and three brothers, Walter Brown, George Brown and William Brown.

He is survived by a daughter, Jean Winterstein and her husband William of Sudlersville; two sons, Philip Walls Brown of Rehobeth Beach, Del., and James Robert Brown and his wife Marlene of Laurel, Del.; three grandsons, William C. Winterstein and his wife Beth of Sudlersville, Wesley C. Winterstein and his wife Ashley of Sudlersville and Michael James Brown and his wife Tanya of Delmar, Del.; three great-granddaughters, Michaela Lynn Brown and Abigail Joy Brown, both of Delmar and Caroline Elizabeth Winterstein of Sudlersville; two great-grandsons, Aaron Michael Brown of Delmar and Carter William Winterstein of Sudlersville; one brother, Ed Brown of Bridgetown; and three sisters, Helen Clough of Dover, Del., Ruth Wright of Wyoming, Del., and Doris Coulby of New Castle, Del.

Services will be noon Wednesday in Fellows, Helfenbein and Newnam Funeral Home, 370 W. Cypress St., Millington, where friends may call one hour prior.

Interment will be in Sudlersville Cemetery.
